Adrian Borda – Sadness is My Single Fortune – oil on canvas 45×36 cm

///

Adrian Borda, surreal painter – live in Reghin, Romania (1978), as he said :
« a peaceful place with no social life, an ideal place to observe the artistic fight inside me ».

I’m an inner traveler, exploring the mysterious and extremely complex subconscious world. In my real life as well as in my art, I don’t care about conventions and the taboos, there are no sacred memes that cannot be touched. My paintings are deep meditations full of symbols about life and out most intimate tendencies and reactions…not necessarily to create something most people like, but to open a window to haunting images impossible to forget.

« This is a kind of silicon, it is not easy to make and use. So, we needed to maket hat material with a crowded team. It takes long hours. The quantity of the material that we throw is much more than that we use for the exhibition. Because we tried a lot of times and we failed. It requires several steps to create a sculpture. At first, I design them at a digital media, then we print them. We take a mould on those printouts. The moulds are covered with plastering, textures are created and after that process we take a mould again and they are painted and put in that liquid places. This is not a processcan be fulfilled with a few people in a few days. A very Professional team worked on that issue for one year. Yes, I imagined, fictionalized but thesesculptures are created by a huge team. Here is the division of labor; there is a moulder dealing with modelling wax, there are other people applying textures, others working on the computer. » (Source EN : Optically addicted)

Gehard Demetz Wood sculptures (IT)

Ils semblent « inconstruits », souffrants – ils me donnent l’impression d’avoir capitulé…

Beautiful ceramics that look like wood

Beautiful ceramics that look like wood of Sculptor Christopher David White (USA)

Christopher David White - Tipping Point - Sculpture

Christopher David White – Tipping Point – Sculpture

« I seek to expose the beauty that often results from decay while, at the same time, making my viewer question their own perception of the world around them. To accomplish this, I begin by observing instances of decay within my surroundings that I find inspiring due to form, color, or texture. With clay as my medium of choice I then meticulously render by hand those elements, taking advantage of clay’s innate ability to mimic a wide variety of materials. I utilize trompe l’oeil as a stylistic choice to emphasize the concept that our understanding of the world is an illusion. The juxtaposition of natural and man-made features in combination with the skewing of scale, proportion, and material, helps in creating an altered perception – forcing the viewer to look closer. »
